Proudly Serving Dundas

Dundas is a Sydney suburb in the Australian state of New South Wales. Dundas is 21 kilometers northwest of Sydney’s central business district, in the City of Parramatta’s local government area and the Bennelong electoral division. It is a beautiful green suburb known for The Ponds Walk, alongside the Ponds Subiaco Creek. Dundas is located in the regions of Northern Sydney and Greater Western Sydney.

Dundas was named after one of the “hundreds” into which Cumberland County was split. The Hundred of Dundas was a county division stretching from Field of Mars Parish in the south to Berowra and surrounding parishes in the north. The modern-day suburbs of Marsfield, Macquarie Park, Carlingford Epping, and Dundas comprise the Field of Mars.

According to the 2016 census, there were 4,740 residents in Dundas. 48.3% of people were born in Australia.

Dundas railway station was on the Sydney Trains network’s decommissioned Carlingford line. The heritage-listed station is on Station Street, with a footpath connecting it to Kissing Point Road. The Camellia to Carlingford section of the Carlingford railway line was modified to light rail as part of the Parramatta Light Rail project in 2015, and the station closed on January 5, 2020.
