The city of Waterloo is one of the oldest suburbs in Sydney. It was named after a cornfield near Brussels, Belgium. It is 3 kilometres in the south of Sydney Central Business District. It is also an integral part of the local government area. 

This city is situated in the Inner West and has plenty of great parks to explore. It is bordered by Redfern, Darlington, Alexandria, Eveleigh, Moore Park, Zetland, Kensington, and Rosebery. 

Waterloo Region has a rich history as an industrial and working-class region. Since the early 2000s, the region experienced significant growth in technology jobs. In 2006, the median individual income in Waterloo was slightly higher than the average Australian income. This town is popular among the gay and lesbian population. Historically, Waterloo has been part of the station since 1856.

The Waterloo Skate Park on the corner of Main and Allen is a great example of modern architecture. The park was built in 1991 by “Hive City” founder Adam Schaefer as an attempt to copy the skate parks he had seen. 

Travelling around Waterloo is done via State Transit Authority Sydney Buses. Green Square Railway Station is on the Airport Line of the Sydney Trains. It can be reached from Central railway station by taking service trains at platform 1 or 2.
