Epping is a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, located 18 kilometers northwest of the Sydney central business district in the City of Parramatta local government area. Epping is in the Northern Sydney region, sometimes known as the “North-West” or “North Shore” of Sydney. The suburb is located in the city of Parramatta’s most north-eastern section. North Epping is a separate suburb to the north, governed by the Hornsby Shire Council.

The commercial zones are around Epping Railway Station. News agencies, pharmacies, Asian grocers, and restaurants are among the businesses in the area. Rawson Street has a Coles grocery, an RSL Club, and a pub to the station’s west. 

Since its opening on May 26, 2019, Epping railway station has served as a junction station for Sydney Trains’ Northern Line, NSW TrainLink’s Central Coast & Newcastle Line, and the future rapid transit Sydney Metro Northwest.

Busways and Hillsbus run bus services in the area. The M2 Hills Motorway connects Sydney’s northern border to the city centre. Epping Road, which extends east from the railway station to the Pacific Highway, is a major arterial road.

According to the 2016 Census of the Australian Bureau of Statistics, Epping had a population of 23,688, with 11,697 men (49.4%) and 11,992 women (50.6%).
